I began my journey with counselling after undergoing my own transformation with personal therapy. Starting to recognise that looking after myself was important allowed me to realise that I could enable others to do the same.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I work in a variety of ways to suit each individual person. I worked as a voluntary counsellor for Cruse Bereavement for three years and this involved seeing clients who have experienced loss and bereavement in some way. Every person experiences grief in an individual way and I have gained a wealth of understanding from my work with these clients. I also counsel people who are working as carers and this has involved working with depression, anxiety and low self-esteem issues.
I am able to draw on my life experiences to help me recognise and understand what you are trying to achieve through the counselling process. I am very down to earth and honest in my work and believe that the relationship we build is paramount to what we can achieve.
I qualified as a counsellor in July 2013 having taken my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Heartwood Counselling and Psychotherapy College. I have now completed a BA (Hons) in Counselling (2016). I am also a qualified Supervisor.
